The Los Angeles Dodgers could not be hotter coming off their World Series victory over the New York Yankees. Taking the best-of-seven series in five games last fall, the Dodgers again spent an incredible amount of money during the offseason in order to reload the pieces surrounding superstar Shohei Ohtani.

That brought their home-run total to 17 on the season, which Bryan Hoch of MLB.com noted is an all-time record for the first four games of a single campaign. The previous record was set in 2006 when the Detroit Tigers hit 16. This comes after the Bronx Bombers already tied the MLB record with 15 home runs through the first three games of a season.

In the seventh, pinch hitter Oswald Peraza homered to set the record. The Yankees became the third team in MLB history to hit nine homers in a game. The Toronto Blue Jays set the MLB record in 1987, becoming the only team to hit 10 in a game.

The New York Yankees tied Major League Baseball's all-time record for the most home runs hit through a team's first three games of a season on Sunday, launching four more home runs against the Milwaukee Brewers (GameTracker) to bring their seasonal total to 15.
