This year's Grand National takes place at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool on Saturday, April 5. The horses are set to get under starter's orders slightly earlier than the start time of 4 p.m. BST local time in the UK (11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT in the US and Canada, and 1 a.m. AEST on Sunday, April 6, in Australia).

The Grand National Festival runs from Thursday 3 April through to Saturday 5 April with the main event getting underway at 4pm tomorrow afternoon. Racing begins at 1.45pm and the final race of the day is at 5.15pm, though fans can pack in after the gates open each morning.

When the gates open at 11am, the temperature will be around 14°C. By the time the first race begins, temperatures will rise to between 17°C and 18°C. The final race is scheduled for 5.15pm, and temperatures at that time will be around 19°C.
