Jesse Winker returned to New York on Monday for further tests on his oblique injury, the results of which were not encouraging.

With designated hitter Jesse Winker dealing with a right oblique strain, infielder Brett Baty rejoined the New York Mets from Triple A, the team announced Monday. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters in Arizona that Winker would be sidelined for 6 to 8 weeks.

Brett Baty returned from Triple-A on Monday as the roster sub for Jesse Winker, who will miss the next six to eight weeks with an oblique strain.
