Starting today, Max subscribers can watch HBO on Max. OK, so they pretty much always could, but this is a bit different.

Discovery is putting the HBO back into its streaming service (formerly known as HBO Max), adding live streaming of HBO's cable channels to the Max platform. The rollout began Wednesday for a "small subset" of subscribers to the streamer's ad-free tiers.

Max is joining the growing list of streaming services that offer 24/7 cable-like channels. On Wednesday, Warner Bros. Discovery announced that it’s testing a set of always-on channels with collections of HBO shows, movies, and documentaries and it’s rolling them out to a small group of ad-free subscribers in the US.
