Columbia University protesters lined the campus steps Tuesday afternoon chanting against the ICE arrest and possible deportation of Palestinian graduate student Mahmoud Khalil.

Some University of Chicago students and faculty members are rallying in support of the former Columbia University student and pro-Palestinian activist who was arrested by ICE over the weekend. The local students and faculty gathered on the University of Chicago quad at noon,

"This is the first arrest of many to come," the president said of Mahmoud Khalil, a green card holder abducted by immigration agents and sent to Louisiana.
