A Shankar and E S Jairam have resigned from their respective posts as secretary and treasurer of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), taking moral responsibility for the stampede that led to the death of 11 people during RCB's IPL trophy celebrations.

Karnataka State Cricket Association officials Shankar and Jairam resigned taking the “moral responsibility” for the Bengaluru stampede tragedy, but said their “role was very limited" to facilitating RCB's IPL celebration.

A complaint has been submitted at the Cubbon Park Police Station against cricketer Virat Kohli by social activist H.M. Venkatesh. The Police have stated that the complaint will be considered under an already registered case and examined during the course of the ongoing investigation of the stampede incident.
