Madre Fire initially started 1:07 p.m. July 2 in San Luis Obispo County, California. Since its discovery three days ago, it has burned 79,630 acres, an increase of 8,830 acres since the last update. A crew of 608 firefighters effectively contained 10% of the fire by Saturday morning.
