Miles Rubin had 18 points, 9 rebounds and two blocks to help Loyola win its NIT quarterfinal against Kent State at home on Wednesday.

Sister Jean became a national sensation during a Cinderella NCAA Tournament run by Loyola Chicago in 2018. Kent State faces them next in the NIT.

The two schools have met only twice previously, with Loyola winning both times. Their last encounter was a 61-59 victory in Chattanooga in December 1989.

Head Coach Drew Valentine and the Loyola Ramblers missed out on making the NCAA Tournament despite a solid season in the Atlantic Ten. But the Ramblers are making the most of a second chance to keep playing in March.
