In December 2024, the Louisiana State Police accused Lacy of reckless driving on a highway in Chackbay. Investigators alleged that he was speeding in a no-passing zone when other vehicles swerved to avoid his Dodge Charger. One of those cars collided head-on with another, killing 78-year-old Herman Hall, a passenger in one of the vehicles.
Former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy was arrested in January 2025 on counts of negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run and reckless operation of a vehicle after being accused of causing a head-on car crash on Louisiana Highway 20 in December 2024.
