Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams flourished during his second season in the league as one of the most improved players in the NFL last year. Williams’ impressive season was rewarded when he was featured on the cover of the prestigious Madden NFL 27.
The NFL would prefer a calendar that is never truly football-free, and one thing keeping the league in the spotlight during the otherwise quiet month of June is the annual reveal of the next Madden. This year,
Bears quarterback Caleb Williams will be making his first appearance on the cover of a Madden game with the 2027 and the game will also include the first appearance of a play made famous by another team.
"It's part of the culture, I think, for us as guys growing up. It's what we did," Vaughn tells The Hollywood Reporter. "We'd get together and play these games, so [EA has] always been cool with allowing us to use it as part of a story we were telling.
Caleb Williams has been rewarded for his breakout sophomore season. The Bears quarterback will be the cover athlete of Madden 27, EA Sports announced Wednesday. The standard edition cover of the game features Williams’ Air-Jordan-esque throw from the Wild Card win over the Packers.
