They accepted their first bowl game in Charlotte, N.C., and will play Virginia Tech for the first time. Minnesota (7-5) and Hokies (6-6) will face off in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl at 6:30 p.m. CT Jan. 3 at Bank of America Stadium.

The Charlotte Sports Foundation (CSF) announced today the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Virginia Tech Hokies will face off in the 23rd annual Duke’s Mayo Bowl. The game will be played on January 3rd at 7:30 PM ET in Bank of America Stadium.

An easy drive down interstates 81 and 77 from the Hokies’ New River Valley home, the ACC’s home city offers not only an accessible location but also an NFL stadium and a Power Four opponent.
