The remnants of Hurricane Priscilla are expected to deliver several days of rainfall across Phoenix, forecasters say.
Moisture from what remains of Hurricane Priscilla in the Pacific will bring a chance of rain and isolated thunderstorms Thursday and Friday in Southern California. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are most likely Thursday inland and in the mountains.
Hurricane Priscilla is lashing western Mexico with heavy rain, strong winds, and rough surf. The National Hurricane Center says a tropical storm watch has been issued for Baja California Sur from Cabo San Lucas to Cabo San Lazaro.
The NWS has been tracking the surge of moisture from Priscilla as it shifts northward. On Thursday, the NWS Weather Prediction Center warned that Phoenix and Winslow, Arizona, faced a moderate risk of flash flooding, in which there was at least a 40 percent chance of flash flooding.
Priscilla has weakened to a tropical storm but is still forecast to bring heavy rain to portions of the southwestern U.S. during the next few days.
