Gulf states with strong ties to President Donald Trump are emerging from the war between Israel and Iran with greater regional influence and with some of their longstanding security concerns over Iranian power assuaged.

Stock markets in the Middle East ended higher on Tuesday after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between Iran and Israel and shrugged off what he said were violations by both sides just hours later.

The Iranian strike, which U.S. President Donald Trump later described as "weak" and which the White House says was telegraphed before it was carried out in order to minimize casualties, came in response to unprecedented U.S. strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities last week, which were carried out with the largest non-nuclear bombs on earth.
