MANKATO, Minn. (FOX 9) - Minnesota State University-Mankato officials announced on Monday one of its international students was detained by ICE over the weekend. The student is the second college student in Minnesota to be detained by immigration authorities in the past week.

Minnesota State University Mankato leaders said one of their students had been detained by ICE at an off-campus residence on Friday.
President Edward Inch notified students and faculty with a campus-wide email about the detainment on Monday afternoon. No reasons were given for the student’s detainment.
The recent arrests of college students in Mankato and Minneapolis come as several foreign nationals affiliated with American universities have found themselves targets of the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown.
