A Cold Weather Advisory in effect for the New York City area starting Friday night as an arctic blast moves in ahead of the winter storm.

Snow and sleet continued into Sunday evening, and the precipitation was forecast to continue off and on into Monday. The National Weather Service in State College has issued Winter Storm Warnings for all of central Pennsylvania through 1 p.

CBS News reports that the winter storm that brought dangerous weather to much of the country over the weekend dumped snowfall totals higher than 20 inches in multiple states.

From New Mexico to Maine, some areas saw nearly two feet of snow over the weekend.
