The future of the shuttered Gillian's Wonderland Pier in Ocean City is up in the air after city council voted against a plan to develop the area into a high-rise hotel resort.
Icona Resorts Chairman and CEO Eustace Mita bought the property in 2021. After Wonderland closed in 2024, Mita initiated a plan to build a 252-room hotel on the land.
The Ocean City Sentinel reports that owner Eustace Mita said the vote delays any action on the property for at least five years - and that's just too long to wait. He indicated that the property - the former home of Wonderland Pier - will go up for sale. It can be yours for $25.
Eustace Mita, owner of Wonderland Pier in Ocean City, New Jersey, told NBC10 that he will sell the property after the city council voted "no" to designate it as an "area in need of rehabilitation."
City council members in Ocean City, New Jersey, are set to vote this week on the future of the former Gillian's Wonderland Pier.
