WNBA star Sophie Cunningham responded on Instagram on Wednesday, May 21, after an alleged accusation that she was having an affair with Josh Bartelstein, the CEO of the Phoenix Suns and Mercury, was repeated within an employee's unrelated discrimination lawsuit against her former team.

Indiana Fever forward Sophie Cunningham has denied accusations that she was involved in an affair with a Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury CEO Josh Bartelstein. Cunningham released a statement on social media Wednesday that also called out the media for helping spread the rumor.

Sophie Cunningham, who was a subject of a rumored affair with Phoenix Suns CEO Josh Bartelstein, condemned the accusations in a statement saying she was, "deeply saddened by the recent false accusations.
