Preston North End manager Paul Heckingbottom was frustrated not to take all three points against Millwall on Tuesday. Both sides, sitting on 41 points ahead of the match, knew a win at Deepdale would take them level with 11th placed Middlesbrough.

Neil was appointed as their head coach at the end of December on a long-term contract, replacing Neil Harris who had stepped down from his post. The South London club come in to the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with West Brom which was needed after they lost 5-1 to Plymouth Argyle on Wednesday night.

The draw leaves Preston and Millwall level on 42 points, though Neil's side are 14th and one place above Tuesday's hosts on goal difference

In-form Preston, in 15th, welcome 14th-placed Millwall on Tuesday (19:45 GMT) with the Lilywhites hoping to extend their unbeaten home league run to 11 games. Paul Heckingbottom's side picked up a point against Lancashire rivals Burnley in a stalemate at Deepdale last time out on Saturday.
