With new head coaches leading each team, Alabama and Michigan are set to clash once again in the ReliaQuest Bowl on New Year's Eve, revisiting last year’s Rose Bowl national semifinal showdown.

UM beat Alabama in last year’s Rose Bowl, a CFP semifinal. The Wolverines went on to win the national title. The Crimson Tide was in the running for a playoff spot until the very end. Alabama would likely have been in had SMU beaten Clemson in the ACC championship game, or been blown out by the Tigers.

This is the third time in five years that the two teams will face off in the postseason. Michigan defeated Alabama, 27-20, in overtime at the Rose Bowl, en route to winning the 2023 national championship. The teams will play at noon at Raymond James Stadium on Dec. 31.

Alabama and Michigan are set to play in the ReliaQuest Bowl on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, at 12 p.m. ET on ESPN. The game will take place from Raymond Jones Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
