Mikhail Shatsky, a Russian engineer behind the X-59 and X-69 cruise missiles, was shot dead in the capital, according to Russian and Ukrainian media.

In addition to working on improving the cruise missiles that Russia extensively uses against Ukraine, Shatski was also involved in the development of new drones for the Russian Army. The Ukraine war does not stop even on such significant dates as Christmas.

Sources said Shatsky was shot in the Kuzminsky Forest Park near Kotelniki, a suburb of Moscow.
