Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley has been named to President Trump's council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, joining the President's renewed push for youth fitness and the revival of the once-standard Presidential Fitness Test in schools.

The Presidential Fitness Test, once a staple of American school life, was scrapped by the Obama administration in 2012 for being outdated and exclusionary. Revived in 2025 by President Trump, the test’s return has sparked a national debate—pitting health and discipline against inclusivity and mental well-being,
