A man says it was like a nightmare when he woke up and found smoke seeping into his apartment in Union City. His building at the Evergreen Commons apartments caught fire at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, sending tenants running to safety.

The Fairburn Fire Department is working to put out flames at an apartment complex in neighboring Union City. Video posted to social media shows a large plume of black smoke in the air. Officials said the fire is a two-alarm,

No one was injured.

UNION CITY, Ga. — An apartment building in Union City suffered major damage when it caught fire on Tuesday morning. Crews were called to the Evergreen Commons apartments on Hwy. 138. NewsChopper 2 flew over the area and found the top floor of the building destroyed.
