Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in Turkey for direct talks with Russia. But the Kremlin sent a lower-level delegation that doesn't include President Vladimir Putin.

Russia's delegation arrived in Istanbul for peace talks with Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Thursday, and a Ukrainian official said a delegation including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was on its way the the Turkish capital Ankara.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Turkey on Thursday for the proposed peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, but Russian President Vladimir Putin is absent for the meeting. President Donald Trump says he didn't expected Putin to attend if he wasn't going.
