The new move joins other McDonald’s in major cities like Chicago, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh and Louisville, which already serve the treats. More than half of all McDonald’s restaurants in the United States are set to serve Krispy Kreme doughnuts by the end of the year.

On March 4, Mardi Gras revelers wearing colorful beads synonymous with the cultural and religious holiday can get a free original glazed doughnut in-store, Krispy Kreme said in a news release. The freebie is also available in the drive-thru. Doughnuts are limited to one per person and no purchase is necessary.
