Bird flu has sickened several dozen people around the U.S. and left one person dead while egg price hikes and shortages have also affected consumers.

Egg prices are projected to rise 20% this year according to a report from USA Today citing the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It’s another significant jump in pricing after the price of eggs at the end of 2024 was 36.8% higher than it was at the end of 2023.
