A coroner says amateur beekeeper Alan Ransom died of anaphylactic shock after a sting.

A TRAGIC amateur beekeeper died after suffering an allergic reaction to a bee sting, an inquest heard. Alan Ransom was tending to the insects at home on the Isle of Wight when the tragedy unfolded.

Ransom was a 'hobbyist' beekeeper before his death.
