HOUSTON (AP) — Alperen Sengun had 29 points, nine assists and nine rebounds and the Houston Rockets remained unbeaten with a 120-110 win over the Atlanta Hawks Monday night. The Rockets are 4-0 this season and Monday was their second consecutive win over the Hawks after they got a 121-114 win in Atlanta on Saturday night.

The Houston Rockets will be missing former Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart for a short stretch this season due to an injury.

The Houston Rockets have looked like one of the best teams in the NBA through the first few games of the 2026-27 season. Their hot start to the new campaign continued on Monday, as they rode a strong night from Alperen Sengun to defeat the Atlanta Hawks for the second straight time,

The center was too much for the Hawks as Houston stays rolling

Houston pulled away midway through the fourth quarter with a 14-0 run in just over two minutes. It only worsened as the Rockets built their cushion. It was a nightmarish fourth quarter as the Hawks’ offense sputtered and the defense hemorrhaged points. The run was at one point 22-2.

After an impressive 3-0 start to 2026-27, the Houston Rockets' stats are predictably looking strong. Most impressively, their record and stats were buoyed by a victory over last season's Western Conference champions,

During his time suiting up for the Rockets, Godfread wore only jersey No. 35 and put up no counting stats in the single game he played for Houston.

When at full strength and playing with this speed and precision, the Rockets can strike fear in any Western Conference team.
