Left-handed reliever Matt Strahm is headed back to Kansas City after the Royals traded right-handed reliever Jonathan Bowlan straight-up to the Philadelphia Phillies.
The team announced Monday that the Opening Day game against the Kansas City Royals will now take place Friday, March 27. It was originally scheduled for Thursday, March 26. The game is set to start at 7:15 p.m. ET. The move takes away an off day between the first and second games of the opening series.
The Kansas City Royals will still play the Atlanta Braves on opening day. But Game 1 of the 2026 season has a new date.
