Lake effect snow showers will continue impacting parts of Central New York through Thursday afternoon, with a lake effect snow warning remaining in effect until 1 p.m. for areas including Onondaga and Madison counties.

An “intense” band of lake effect snow was falling across the Chicago area late Friday morning, with a new winter storm issued for parts of Cook County and the National Weather Service warning of low visibility and “locally dangerous travel” as bursts of snow continue.
