Moreno, a former two-time Flyweight champion, is looking to bounce back after losing to Tatsuro Taira at UFC 323 in December. He has dropped three of his last five bouts, two of which were by split decision. The Tijuana native has a career record of 23-9-2 with 11 wins by submission.

Now 32, Moreno faced unranked fill-in opponent Lone'er Kavanagh in the main event of a 13-bout show at Arena CDMX in Mexico City. The sixth-ranked ex-champ was initially matched with No. 8 Asu Almabayev, but that fight was scrapped when Almabayev pulled out with an injury in early February.

UFC returns to Mexico for the first time since March 29, 2025, when UFC Fight Night comes to Mexico City on Saturday. In the main event, two-time former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno will take on late replacement Lone'er Kavanagh.
