The Minnesota Vikings have committed to moving forward with J.J. McCarthy as their starting quarterback this season after deciding not to offer Aaron Rodgers a contract, according to a person with knowledge of the decision.

Tannehill took over as starter in Week 7 following the benching of Marcus Mariota and managed to put forth a Pro Bowl-worthy 10-game performance. He threw for 228 yards per game and tallied 22 touchdowns and six interceptions. Tannehill threw multiple touchdowns in all but one game and finished the season with a 117.5 passer rating.
