27 different drivers led the Talladega Cup race, nearly toppling NASCAR record
The 2010 Aaron's 499 at Talladega holds the record with 29 different race leaders, followed by the 2008 AMP Energy 500 at Talladega at 28, and this past weekend's Yellawood 500 at Talladega now sits third overall with 27.
Chase Briscoe joined Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Denny Hamlin in the Championship 4 by winning the YellaWood 500 NASCAR Cup Series race on Oct. 19 at Talladega. Briscoe emerged from the front with the lead on the green-white-checkered restart, passing Kyle Larson for the lead then holding off Bubba Wallace and others on the final lap.
Joe Gibbs Racing’s bold move to sign Chase Briscoe is paying off as the No. 19 driver delivers wins, consistency, and a shot at the 2025 NASCAR title.
