Map: Pickett Fire evacuations near Silverado Trail in Napa County
A fire burning near Silverado Trail wineries prompted evacuation orders in Napa County. The Pickett Fire was reported around 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, off Pickett Road, near Calistoga. By Saturday night, it had burned 6,531 acres (10 square miles) with 11% containment, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said.
As the Pickett Fire continues to spready, over 1,200 firefighters continue to push back as properties are threatened.
The map has three code colors: red, orange and yellow. More than 265,000 acres in Napa County are proposed for the red “very high” hazard zone, or slightly more than half of the county.
Sonoma, Napa and Solano counties will likely be impacted by smoke from the Pickett Fire, the Air District said Thursday.
