Due to severe flooding that has hampered power generation in Nepal, India may begin exporting electricity to its neighboring country. The flash floods on Wednesday severely affected Nepal's hydropower and solar output.

Kathmandu, Aug 27 (PTI) Nepalese authorities on Thursday arranged alternative power sources for flood-hit areas of the Himalayan nation, where supply has been disrupted following extensive damage to power projects.

One of the agreements announced during Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s visit to India last week was a long-term electricity trade deal that makes it more difficult for third-country investment and construction of hydropower projects on Nepal’s rivers.
