Dangerous cold and two rounds of snow are expected to hit the St. Louis region this weekend, with the second wave bringing the most significant impacts and total snowfall ranging from 4 to 8 inches.

St. Louis faces a winter storm with heavy snow and low wind chills as forecasted by the National Weather Service.

The current forecast has the metro St. Louis area getting 10 to 13 inches of snow, with areas north and south of the city getting less.

As the snow continues to fall Saturday, many FOX 2 viewers have shared photos of their experience. Many of the most common snapshots included snow-covered roads, pets and animals.

Saint Louis forecast: chilly day with a high of 30°F, wind chill of 4°F, and calm winds; cold persists through the week.

Below-freezing temperatures are expected to stick around through January and into early February, meaning any snow that falls could stay a while.

Although the St. Louis region has seen a mild winter season so far, there has been growing attention towards the weekend forecast for a potential of snow.
