No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward will wear Warren Moon's No. 1 jersey after the Hall of Fame quarterback gave him permission to don the number on Friday. Moon showed up to Ward's introductory press conference, gifting him a custom No. 1 jersey.

Ward only stayed in the 2024 draft cycle for 13 days before pulling out to transfer to Miami, a decision that led to the Hurricanes' first 10-win season since 2017 and launched Ward from fringe Day 2 prospect to the first player off the board Thursday night.

However, head coach Brian Callahan isn't ready to commit to that quite yet. "We'll see. We don't need to worry about that until September," Callahan said when asked if the plan is to have Ward be the Week 1 starter, per NFL Network's Sara Walsh.
