Many believed when quarterback Deshaun Watson went down with a season-ending injury and was replaced by Jameis Winston that the Cleveland Browns offense

NFL legend Troy Aikman hit the Browns with a sobering take on the reality of their quarterback situation going forward.

Since acquiring Watson via a blockbuster trade in 2022, the Browns have mostly picked up backup quarterbacks to support their $230 million quarterback. That group includes Jacoby Brissett, Joshua Dobbs, Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Jameis Winston.

He has a big arm and has led the league in both passing yards (5,109) and interceptions (30) in the same season (2019). He has led Cleveland to wins over the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers in five games as the Browns' starter this season, during which he is 2-3.

Cleveland is 2-3 with Winston starting, including upset wins over the Steelers and Ravens, and has largely played a much better brand of football with him leading the way.

Deshaun Watson got criticism when he wasn't even in the game on Monday night. During the Cleveland Browns' Monday Night Football matchup with the Denver Broncos, ESPN's Joe Buck and Troy Aikman openly questioned Cleveland's decision to keep playing Deshaun Watson prior to his season-ending injury.
