U.S. stock market futures rose as Donald Trump was sworn in a second time as U.S. president as investors bet a series of immediate actions by him would boost the economy, especially in areas like the banking and energy sectors.

Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average soared Monday in electronic trade after a report that President-elect Donald Trump won’t impose new tariffs on his first day of office.

Dow Jones futures have also gained upside momentum on Inauguration Day. From a big picture point of view, Dow Jones continues to rebound from multi-month lows that were reached on January 13. In case Dow Jones settles above the 43,700 level, it will head towards the resistance, which is located in the 44,000 – 44,100 range.

Trump has promised dozens of executive orders on his first day, touching on everything from immigration to trade to delaying the implementation of the ban on social media site TikTok.
