Lucas is staying in the ACC and, at 36, will be the youngest high-major coach when he takes over Miami following this weekend

Jai Lucas says Miami has everything needed to compete at the top of the college basketball world. And the Hurricanes have given him the chance to prove it. The soon-to-be former Duke associate head coach was finally announced as the new coach at Miami on Thursday,

Lucas takes over a Miami program that lost longtime head coach Jim Larrañaga, who retired in December midway through the season. Former assistant Bill Courtney has worked as Miami's interim head coach since Larrañaga stepped down. Miami is in the midst of a 6-24 campaign, with a 2-17 record in ACC play that's good for last place in the conference.
