The hurricane center is tracking a tropical wave in the Atlantic Ocean that could become the next named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.
The tropical hazard outlook for September, issued by NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center this week, indicates that forecasters expect the warmer waters to increase the chances of tropical activity in the Gulf next week. Tropical Storm Jerry forms in the Atlantic and is expected to become a hurricane
Tropical Storm Jerry formed Tuesday in the Atlantic Ocean on a path toward the Caribbean, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said. The storm was about 1,315 miles east-southeast of the northern Leeward Islands, but was traveling west at 24 mph.
