First-degree murder charge for suspect in Oak Park detective’s death

Dord Jerrell, age 68, of Thompson, passed away Monday, Oct. 19, 2015 at TriPoint Medical Center. He was born Dec. 26, 1946 in Jonesville, VA to Marie Ellen (Alsup) and Rhea Southgate Jerrell.
Reddins was shot and killed in the line of duty Friday morning, and on Saturday, a Chicago man was charged with his murder.
