King Charles and Queen Camilla have arrived alongside Prince William, Kate Middleton and more working royals to attend events commemorating the 80th anniversary of VE Day.

This came as a surprise for some as Lt Col Thompson, 41, moved to a "more executive and less public-facing role" last year, while still keeping his role as senior equerry to King Charles, 76, and Queen Camilla, 77. This is believed to be because he didn't like the attention he had received online due to his looks.
