Lake County offices are closed Monday and drivers are asked to stay off the roads after a state of emergency was declared in response to heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures from a winter storm. The decision was made late Sunday by Lake County commissioners after lake-effect snow blanketed parts of county.

First discovered: 2:25 p.m. Dec. 3 A new wildfire was reported today at 2:25 p.m. in Lake County. Oak Fire has burned one acre of private land. There is currently no information about the containment efforts for the fire and its cause remains unknown.
