Mets’ Pete Alonso suggests a hockey fighting rule MLB should implement

Mets first baseman Pete Alonso is taking some inspiration from the NHL in a new suggestion he has for Major League Baseball. He thinks the sport should let players fight. While speaking at the All-Star Game events this week, Alonso was asked what MLB rule he would change if he were given the chance.

But perhaps its best decision was to bring back franchise slugger Pete Alonso on a relatively cheap deal. After prolonged negotiations, the Mets landed him on a two-year, $54 million contract with a player option after this season and he has rewarded that decision with another All-Star season.
