With no official opt-out from Recall, Signal says it was forced to devise its own method to block screenshots. The new feature is now on by default.

Signal now blocks Windows Recall from taking snapshots when the new "Screen security" setting is enabled. Signal enables that feature by default following a recent app update. You can download the latest version of the messaging app through Signal's website.

Signal isn't happy with Microsoft's Recall feature. In response, the app now blocks Recall screenshots by default on Windows 11.
