Texas health officials say the number of people with measles has increased to 146 in rural West Texas outbreak that led this week to the death of a school-aged child who was not vaccinated

New measles cases have been reported since the first death in West Texas amid the ongoing outbreak. Cases have also been confirmed in New Mexico and New Jersey.

The child, who was not vaccinated against the disease, died overnight in a children's hospital in Lubbock, Texas.
