Steve Yzerman and Detroit Red Wings made a trade at the NHL trade deadline, acquiring G Petr Mrázek and F Craig Smith from Chicago for Joe Veleno.
This week, Yzerman acquired a 35-year-old veteran center, Craig Smith, and a 33-year-old underperforming goaltender, Petr Mrázek, along with a conditional mid-round pick. The only player shipped out was Joe Veleno, a former first-round pick who wasn't performing to expectations.
"We didn’t do a whole lot, but it’s honestly been hard to follow because of our game and back-to-back," Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin said.
Petr Mrázek and Craig Smith were at their first Detroit Red Wings practice on Sunday since being acquired Friday at the NHL trade deadline.
