It's over for Starlink in Ontario, according to the Canadian province's premier, Doug Ford. Ford said in a press conference Tuesday that due to US tariffs imposed against Canada -- which as of Thursday were delayed until April -- Ontario canceled a $100 million contract with Elon Musk's Starlink satellite company it signed in November.

Experts warn that an abrupt halt in electricity exports could cause price spikes in major U.S. cities like Buffalo, Seattle, and Portland.

Premier Doug Ford has warned that Ontario will charge 25 percent more for electricity shipped to Minnesota, New York and Michigan from Monday.

The taxes proposed by Trump have caused a gaping wound in the decades-old North American trade partnership, and Canada has felt compelled to quickly take aggressive countermeasures.
