(Dakota News Now) - The South Dakota Coyote men are one of two local teams looking to earn a spot in Summit League Tournament championship Sunday after last night’s dramatic and thrilling comeback victory over North Dakota State in the quarterfinals. USD rallied from 11 down with less than six minutes to play, winning 85-84.

USD mounted a late comeback to knock off North Dakota State 85-84 in the first game of the evening session, and the team most of those fans paid to see, South Dakota State, got bounced 85-69 by 6th-seeded North Dakota behind one of the greatest individual performances and worst team performances in tournament history.

SIOUX FALLS — With a quarterfinal win over North Dakota State under their belt and rival South Dakota State bounced in an upset loss to North Dakota, the USD Coyotes had their chance to make the Summit League tournament theirs in a Saturday night semifinal against top-seeded Omaha.
