The Canton Fire Department is investigating after a woman was hospitalized and a dog was killed in a house fire Wednesday afternoon.

A person was arrested on aggravated arson charges after a fire was intentionally set in a Canton home Thursday night, officials said.

Several people and animals escaped a Canton house fire Wednesday afternoon but unfortunately, a dog died in the fire.

A judge has sentenced the last two defendants to prison from a July case involving abductions and beatings in southwest Canton.
